Quicksilver

Quicksilver is a tool which makes everybodies live easier. It is made that you have to move you hand back to the touchpad all the time. It runs in the background and creates a database of all files and apps you have installed. When you hit CTRL+SPACE you will get the quicksilver popup. Now you can type “Mail” and hit enter and will will open mail. You can also combine commands like Open -> Text.txt and then Compress it into tgz. It really makes live and work faster and easier.

TextMate

Textmate a the perfect editor everybody is looking for. You have to pay for but I recommend everybody to try it 30 days and by it. It is worth it’s money. The best to see what it can do, go to the website and watch the podcasts which will show you all his strength. It is powerful for me and I do all my developing (ruby, php, html etc.) with it. It also supports makro’s and has powerful shortcuts.

Renamer4Mac

Renamer4mac enamer4Mac makes it really easy to rename a big number of files according to a preset pattern. It lets you rename your files in many different ways. All can be done with an easy user interface and real-time preview, so you can see how the files will be named just while you’re configuring! MacGPG

MacGPG make PGP encryption available to your Mac OSX Mail client. It is good for signing your emails that people really know that they emails are from you. There are a few more tools on there website for managing other Public Keys. I don’t encrypt my emails because lots of people I know don’t use PGP so they won’t be able to read but them but I use it to sign them.

Cyberduck

Cyberduck is an open source FTP and SFTP (SSH Secure File Transfer) browser licenced under the GPL with an easy to use interface, integration with external editors and support for many Mac OS X system technologies such as Spotlight, Bonjour, the Keychain and AppleScript.

Chicken of the VNC

Chicken of the VNC is a VNC client for Mac OS X. A VNC client allows one to display and interact with a remote computer screen. In other words, you can use Chicken of the VNC to interact with a remote computer as though it’s right next to you. It’s the best VNC client for OSX I know of.
